Fulham set sights on Arsenal youngster ahead of Premier League return

Word stemming from the media over the course of the last 24 hours points towards Fulham setting their sights on the addition of a member of the Arsenal loan army ahead of next season.

The player in question? Folarin Balogun.

Hitman Balogun is of course currently in the midst of a spell in the Championship, with Middlesbrough.

After finding game-time altogether difficult to come by in north London over the opening half of the campaign, the 20-year-old was farmed out to the Riverside Stadium on loan, and has since not looked back.

Though he is yet to truly ‘explode’ into the kind of goalscoring form which saw Balogun establish himself as one of the stars of the Premier League 2, the gifted attacker, all told, has impressed onlookers.

Across 16 Championship appearances (eight starts) in Boro’s colours, the Arsenal starlet has racked up three goals and two assists.

Fulham bound?

And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then such efforts on Balogun’s part in Yorkshire appear to have piqued the attentions of another of the Championship’s clubs – Fulham.

As per a report from the Daily Mail, since backed elsewhere across the continent, the transfer team at Craven Cottage would be keen to bring in Balogun ahead of next season.

This of course comes with Marco Silva’s troops already with one eye firmly on the 2022/23 campaign, ahead of an imminent Premier League return.

In turn, it has been suggested that Balogun has emerged as one of a lengthy list of summer targets, with Fulham eyeing a loan swoop, potentially including an option to buy in 2023.
