Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd to go all-out for exciting France forward; Liverpool ‘well placed’ to smash transfer record for winger

Liverpool are one of the clubs ready to move for a €120m winger, while Manchester United are set to make a big-money bid for a France forward, according to Monday’s European papers.

MAN UTD STEP UP LUKAKU REPLACEMENT HUNT

Manchester United are ready to make their move for Lyon star Moussa Dembele this summer, according to reports in France.

With Romelu Lukaku’s future firmly up in the air, United have been forced to look at potential replacements for the Belgian.

Just two years after joining the Old Trafford giants, the 26-year-old is believed to be keen to move onto pastures new and Antonio Conte is keen to bring the striker to Serie A, though Inter face competition from rivals Juventus.

Recently, Sky Sports revealed that Dembele is the man that United are targeting to replace Lukaku, with the former Celtic star having score 23 goals and added six assists in 52 appearances across all competitions last season for Lyon.

The 22-year-old former PSG youngster was recently the subject of a €45m bid from United, which followed an uncertain admission over his future.

Now, French outlet L’Equipe (as translated by Sky Sports’ live transfer centre) claim that United are readying a bid of over £40million.

It is mentioned that the Red Devils were left impressed by the double he netted against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in preseason over the weekend.

The Gunners have also been linked with a possible swoop for Dembele as Unai Emery eyes a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a reported Man Utd target.

MAN CITY TO MEET OYARZABAL EXIT FEE

Manchester City have reportedly agreed to pay the €75m exit clause for Mikel Oyarzabal as Leroy Sane’s transfer to Bayern Munich inches closer.

Germany star Sane is expected to join the Bundesliga champions this summer, with City only reluctantly letting him move on once a replacement has been identified.

And according to Spanish daily AS, City boss Pep Guardiola has instructed his side to meet the €75m release clause in the contract of exciting Spain Under-21 left winger Oyarzabal.

The 22-year-old is seen as one of Spanish football’s brightest young talents and it’s claimed Guardiola sees him as a direct replacement for Sane, with the two transfers set to leave City marginally in profit.

Oyarzabal, who recently won the Euro Under-21 Championships with his country, has 38 goals in 151 matches for Sociedad, having seen his influence grow at the Anoeta Stadium.

While Sociedad want to tie their prized asset to a new deal, they except it’s likely his exit clause won’t prove prohibitive to the game’s big hitters – and it seems like it is City who look set to bring the talent to the Eithad this summer.
