England international set for shock code switch ahead World Cup

England international Ben Earl could be coming around to the idea of swapping to the 13-man game if recent reports are to be believed.

According to Serious About rugby league, his continued snub from Eddie Jones ‘has prompted the flanker to think seriously about his future within rugby union, so much so that his interest has flirted with a possible move to Super League.’

“At some point my career, I would love to give it (rugby league) a try, if the opportunity arose,” revealed Earl to the RugbyPass Offload .

“There was actually an opportunity to for me to do some training with Leeds Rhinos this summer just gone. It just didn’t work out. They just had a Cup Final and rugby league was hit really badly with Covid, right in the middle of their season.”

“I’m now a full-on fan and I love watching the boys play. I love seeing the pride back in a Leicester shirt. It fills me with a lot of joy and happiness.”

5 rugby transfers that are DEFINITELY still going to happen

There are still plenty of big rugby transfers to be done ahead of the 2022/23 season.

#1. Anthony Watson to Leicester Tigers

Leicester is rumoured to be the most likely destination for out of contract Bath, England and Lions winger for next season.

Rumours of his departure have subsided since it was revealed that current Munster coach Johann van Graan would be stepping into the head coach role, but there is still no certainty about his future, nor is there any shortage of clubs lining up to sign him.
