Arsenal boss Unai Emery claims “tonight wasn’t our moment” and blamed second half injuries as they gave up the lead to lose 2-1 at home to Frankfurt, as they were booed once again from the Emirates pitch.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave them the lead at the end of a decent first half for the hosts, but two goals in quick succession from Daichi Kamada saw Frankfurt condemn Arsenal to a seventh game without a win to pile more pressure on under-fire boss Emery.
The Spaniard was pleased with the first half display and blamed an injury to Skhodran Mustafi for a second half in which they “lost control”.

We want to do that to build our confidence and connect with the supporters. We need to win and we lost a very good opportunity. We didn’t do enough to win this match.
“We lost our control of the game for 15 minutes of the second half, and they scored two goals. Then we had injuries, and Mustafi going off meant I wasn’t able to make changes. We were better in the first half but in those 15, 20 minutes we lost control.”
