Good afternoon and happy Friday friends! I do hope you have all had a glorious week. I am feeling fresh and fruity and am ready for another Beneath The Surface feature. How about you?
Well today you are in for a treat. This time I am joined by the extremely talented, 19 year old, new Universal Music Canada signee noelle who has recently released her single and video for ‘Therapy’.
So without further delay, let’s get into it!
What would you say first sparked your interest in music/who inspired you to make music?
I would say my parents first sparked my interest in music. They both sing and play instruments, so growing up, I was constantly surrounded by music. I started writing songs in my early teens when I experienced my first heart break.
How would you describe the music you are currently creating?
The music I’m currently writing is pop RnB with a bit of jazz influence. I love writing sad songs and ballads.
What does your creative process look like?
Typically when writing a song, I’ll start by finding chords that I like…then melodies over top of that, and then lyrics. But there are no rules with inspiration. Being home so much during the pandemic has really helped me zone in and work on my writing.
Who would you most like to collaborate with? (let’s send it out to the universe and make it happen!)
I would LOVE to collaborate with Lewis Capaldi! (If I have to pick only one
What is the one message you would like to send out to your fans?
Thank you so much for listening to my music and supporting me, I love you all so much.
What’s your top tip to rejuvenate your creativity/get over a writer’s block?
Take the time you need to rest. You can’t force an amazing song. If I have writers block, I get up… go have a bubble bath and a cup of tea, and try again later.
What’s next for you, what do we have to look forward to/ what are you currently working on?
I have so many things coming your way! My next single is coming out very soon AND I’ll have my debut album coming early 2022!!!!!! Woohoo
