Arsenal linked with Feyenoord’s Orkun Kokcu/ Arteta on making Ceballos’ move permanent

Arsenal linked with Orkun Kokcu

The Daily Mail have, on Thursday, published a report linking Arsenal with Feyenoord’s Orkun Kokcu.

The now 19-year-old is a product of Feyenoord’s youth system and has notched up 46 appearances for the Dutch outfit’s senior side.

In those 46 ties, the attack-minded midfielder has scored seven and assisted 10.

Now though, it looks like the Gunners have set their sites on a move for Kokcu.

According to the aforementioned report from the Mail, Arsenal have opened talks over a £23m summer move for the Turkey under-21 international.

Kokcu is currently contracted to the Eredivisie outfit until 2023 with the Mail claiming Feyenoord want to extend the midfielder’s deal. But there are said to be concerns at the club that they do not have the financial power to keep hold of the Arsenal target.

Arteta praises Ceballos

Another midfielder Arsenal could look to sign permanently this summer is Dani Ceballos.

The Spaniard is currently on a season-long loan at the Emirates and has had a rather up and down time in North London, partly due to injuries.

But in recent weeks, the Real Madrid loanee has been in top form, featuring in all of Arsenal’s last five ties.

And with fellow midfielder Lucas Torreira suffering a fracture to his right ankle on Monday, you would imagine that means Ceballos will feature in some capacity this weekend vs West Ham.

Mikel Arteta would hold his pre-West Ham press conference on Thursday.

During the presser, the Spanish tactician was asked about making Ceballos’ move permanent, to which Arteta responded:

“We haven’t had any discussions about it. I’m really happy with Dani and what he’s bringing to the team right now. It took him a while after his injury to get to the level that he has and that I’ve seen in the past. He’s performing much better now and that’s why he’s playing much more games.” As quoted by football.london.
