Arsenal are in the race to sign Club Brugge starlet Noa Lang, but could face competition from Leicester City and other Premier League sides this summer as they chase his signature.
In January, the Dutchman revealed that he is almost certain to leave Brugge this summer. At an awards evening, Lang claimed ‘I’m going to be very honest. Chances are I’ll be leaving next summer.’
And the Gunners are thought to have been scouting the Brazilian winger for several months now as they look to bolster their frontline ahead of the prospect of European football next campaign. At present, Mikel Arteta can call upon 4 senior options in wide areas, in the form of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Martinelli and Nicolas Pepe.
But, there is an expectation that another wide forward is brought in this summer to provide added backup, and Lang certainly fits the profile of player that Arsenal are targeting. A move for Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht shows that they are keeping their finger on the pulse of Belgian football too.
He ‘will not dream’ of Brighton
And, according to Club Brugge legend Gert Verheyen, he has his eyes set on a move to the Gunners or across north London to Tottenham.
‘He will not dream of clubs like Brighton’, Verheyen told Het Nieuwsblad [via Sports witness]. ‘But the question is whether clubs like Arsenal or Tottenham will come this summer.’
It is thought that any potential move would set any side back around 25 million pounds, a reasonable price given that the 22 year old Brazilian has contributed to 17 goals in the Pro League this campaign.
Leicester City are another side with Lang on their radar, although whether they would fall into the same category as Brighton is unknown.
