Arsenal charged by FA following Manchester City clash

Arsenal have been charged by the FA following an incident during their meeting with Manchester City recently.

Arsenal lose to Manchester City

Arsenal played host to Manchester City this past Saturday.

Despite an upturn in form on the part of the Gunners, Arsenal getting anything against Man City did seem very unlikely.

And, though they did eventually lose the tie 2-1, the north Londoners did put on a valiant display and were unlucky to come away with nothing.

The main reason Arsenal came away with nothing was due to some silly individual errors.

Firstly, Granit Xhaka pulled down Bernardo Silva in the box to hand City a penalty, which they scored.

Then, just a few minutes later, Gabriel was shown a second yellow card after blocking Gabriel Jesus.

Following the penalty incident, Arsenal players were not too happy with referee Stuart Atwell, who opted to show Gabriel his first yellow card of the day for dissent.

This was seemingly because Arsenal players believed Atwell go it wrong and Bernardo Silva dived which, if you watch enough replays, you could probably make something of a case for.

Now though, the FA have charged Arsenal with “failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in orderly fashion” after the penalty incident against Manchester City:
