Album Review: From Ashes To New – ‘Panic’

On August 28, From Ashes To New released their third full-length album, Panic. This was a follow up to their 2018 release, The Future. Panic opens with “Scars That I’m Hiding,” featuring Anders Fridén of In Flames. You can check out its music video here. “Brick” shows off how From Ashes To New has brought a heavier sound to the table with this new record. One of my favorite songs is “Blind,” a song that I immediately wanted to listen to again to absorb more of the lyrics. “SideFX” and “Bulletproof” are some other tracks that tell a story within their lyrics, and you can view the music video for “Bulletproof” here. The title track was the first song released off of the album back in April. The music video was filmed when the world first started shutting down and has a quarantine-theme to it. “Death Of Me” starts off with a fast riff and definitely gives off Linkin Park vibes. Panic closes with “Change My Past,” a track with a really catchy chorus. Overall, this album seems heavier to me than From Ashes To New’s previous releases. My favorite songs on it are “Blind,” “Panic,” and “Nothing,” but this is an album you’ll definitely want to check out for yourself so you can find your own favorites.
