Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets – Rome added to Italy 2024 dates

Some more news for our friends in Italy – Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets have just announced the date and venue of the Rome concert. They revealed back in December that they would be performing in the city, but there were no further details. Details of the dates and venues of ALL the Italian shows are below. Tickets for the newly announced show in Rome, at Cavea, Auditorium Parco Della Musica on July 21st, go on sale TOMORROW (Tuesday, January 23rd) at 11am local time (10am UK), through TicketOne (https://www.ticketone.it/artist/nick-mason/) and we anticipate that they will sell very quickly. Obviously, should further dates be announced for elsewhere, we’ll let you know – so there’s NO need to email us asking if they’ll be playing in your local town or city, or have any plans to play particular countries. We get asked this an awful lot. If it’s not showing below, we have no idea! We also don’t yet know if there will be any changes to the set list, or anything else. Due to the incredible reaction that Echoes received over the last couple of years, it is likely (although not guaranteed, of course) that they will include this during the show. We’ll all have to wait and see what they decide to play! Here are the dates, with the venue (and revised date) for Rome now included: 18 July – Teatro Arcimboldi, Milan, Italy (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/nick-mason-s-sos-2024/july-18th-teatro-arcimboldi-milan-italy.html) – TICKETS (https://www.ticketone.it/artist/nick-mason/)

Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets – Italy 2024 dates!

Some (hopefully) great news for our friends in Italy – an early Christmas present? Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets have just revealed that they are coming to your country for a string of concerts in July 2024! Details of the dates and venues are below. Tickets for these six shows go on sale TOMORROW (Thursday, December 21st) at 11am local time (10am UK), through TicketOne (https://www.ticketone.it/artist/nick-mason/) and we anticipate that they will sell very quickly. One of the venues (Milan) they’ve performed in before, another – Vicenza – was the scene exactly one year earlier than the newly announced date, when an incoming bad storm caused the last minute cancellation of the open-air gig, just as the band were ready to head on stage. There’s also some beautiful looking venues new to the Saucers. Obviously, should further dates be announced for elsewhere, we’ll let you know – so there’s NO need to email us asking if they’ll be playing in your local town or city, or have any plans to play particular countries. On The (Ski) Run – limited edition Pink Floyd Dark Side skis created

With the Northern Hemisphere ski season just beginning in a number of countries, a new, officially licensed set of skis – which have gone on sale today – will bring the Dark Side to all that white stuff on the slopes! IcelanticSkis (https://www.icelanticskis.com/blogs/one-degree-blog/icelantic-x-pink-floyd-collab) have created their Limited Edition Icelantic X Pink Floyd Nomad 105 collaboration – and the skis look great. Icelantic note that the skis “feature George Hardie and British design group Hipgnosis’ original sketches on the tails, and the now iconic prism/colour beam image on the tips of Icelantic’s top-selling freeride tool, the Nomad 105. Our Design Director has re-imagined the beams to reflect off the edges of the skis and cascade toward each other, creating a relationship between concept and final artwork.” As you’ll see from the video below, the skis are handmade (in Denver, Colorado, USA) and come with a three year warranty. They come in five lengths and can be ordered now. However, as they are a limited edition, if you DO want to snap up a pair, we suggest you don’t leave it too long! Happy 80th birthday, Roger Waters!

The combined wishes of all of us on the Brain Damage team, along no doubt with many of you reading this, go to Roger Waters, who celebrates the very special occasion of his 80th birthday today! Roger was born in Great Bookham, Surrey, in 1943, moving to Cambridge when he was two years old. It was there that he met, and became childhood friends with, a number of key people in the story of Pink Floyd. Of course, Roger has been extremely busy over recent years, having successfully taken Dark Side Of The Moon on tour in 2006, through to 2008. On completing that, he immediately started work on a new version of The Wall – which finally opened in September 2010. That tour was spectacularly successful, wrapping up in Paris for show number 217 in September 2013. Recordings of that tour turned into the film, shown in cinemas and released on DVD/Blu-ray and as part of a mammoth Super Deluxe Edition. More recently, he performed his highly acclaimed Us + Them world tour, which was filmed and was shown in cinemas worldwide, with the home release of it on Blu-ray, 2CD, 3LP vinyl and DVD that followed. He also released his latest full solo album, Is This The Life We Really Want? as well as overseeing the release of the late Nick Sedgwick’s book about the band, and in particular, the 1974 tour of The Dark Side of the Moon. 2022 finally saw him back on tour for This Is Not A Drill, originally due to start in 2020 but delayed due to Covid-19, with the stage presentation being “in the round”. The powerful presentations, with the unique staging which sees Roger wandering around, addressing attendees on all sides of the arenas, have already thrilled audiences in many countries with more shows to come in South America. June also saw the release of the six-song album, The Lockdown Sessions, which gathered together new versions of Mother, Two Suns In The Sunset, Vera, The Gunner’s Dream, The Bravery Of Being Out Of Range, and Comfortably Numb 2022. Finally, Roger’s Redux version of The Dark Side Of The Moon is released next month, and he presents this in a pair of shows at the legendary London Palladium. The official Pink Floyd social channels this morning also shared a birthday wish for Roger, with a message looking back in fondness to all the work they all did together: We hope you have a great day, Roger. Many happy returns!
