Everton looking to sign right-back before deadline – Liverpool Echo

Everton not stopping yet

Everton are looking to sign a right-back before the transfer deadline next week, having confirmed the signing of Jean-Philippe Gbamin.

The Toffees are making some big moves in the transfer market this summer.

Everton have already confirmed the signings of Jonas Lossl, Fabian Delph and Andre Gomes.

They added to that list on Friday when they paraded their new central midfielder, Jean-Philippe Gbamin.

Moise Kean is also set to join Everton over the weekend.

The Juventus starlet will reportedly have his medical on Saturday and could be announced the same day.

The Blues have also been linked with a move for Kurt Zouma and reportedly remain in talks with Chelsea.

Though, even if Everton sign Kean and Zouma, they won’t be done there.

Diving into the loan market ahead of the deadline

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are in the market for a right-back.

They claim ‘Marco Silva wants to find cover for first-choice Seamus Coleman but Everton are only looking to bring someone in on loan at this stage’.

There is no indication as to which right-back they could sign on loan, but there have been a few links in the past.

Chelsea youngster Reece James has been linked in the past and could be a smart loan option.

Santiago Arias of Atletico Madrid has also been linked, though it’s not clear how open the Spanish club would be to loaning him out.

Having signed Kieran Trippier this summer, it would be far from impossible for Everton to make a deal work.

Moise Kean’s father admits he once blocked Manchester United move

It could have been very different for Moise Kean and Manchester United this summer.

That’s because the imminent Everton signing could actually have joined the Red Devils in his youth.

However, his father blocked a move.
