Chelsea send message to Maurizio Sarri following pneumonia diagnosis

Chelsea are still struggling to properly get going in their new 2019/20 Premier League season.

After two games played, the Blues only have one point and one goal in total under their belts.

It’s safe to say that they’ve seen better days and Frank Lampard probably envisioned a brighter start to his stint with the Blues, though there have been positive glimpses and spells for him to hone in on.

But be that as it may, there are certainly more important things happening at the moment that overshadow chasing a ball on the pitch.

Namely, Maurizio Sarri, their former boss and the current Juventus coach, seems to be battling pneumonia, a tough infection of the lungs.

It is no doubt a difficult illness to have, especially since the Italian is now already 60.

Nonetheless, Chelsea have sent him a classy and heartfelt message on Twitter, letting him know they are with him in these tough times.

Sarri was Chelsea’s manager for the entirety of last season, coaching the Blues in a total of 63 games and winning the Europa League title right at the end of last season.

It was a fitting farewell gift for everyone involved.
