The first Turkish Airlines EuroLeague opening night in Villeurbanne, France in almost a decade was celebrated on Friday with a special press conference prior to the Round 1 matchup between LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne and visiting Olympiacos Piraeus.

Turkish Airlines EuroLeague changed its format in the 2004-05 season. After three seasons in which the first-ranked team in the Top 16 made it directly to the Final Four, a playoffs stage was introduced in the 2004-05 campaign.
